2025 April - Participation of Mr. Radu Berceanu, Founder and President of AVI Aircraft, at the official meeting held at Cotroceni Palace, alongside Romania’s Interim President, Mr. Ilie Bolojan, and other key figures from the defense industry and government administration, in the Context of the EU Plan to Strengthen Military Capabilities 

We are honored to announce the participation of Mr. Radu Berceanu, Founder and President of AVI Aircraft, at the official meeting held on April 3, 2025 at Cotroceni Palace, alongside Romania’s Interim President, Mr. Ilie Bolojan, and other key figures from the defense industry and government administration.

The discussions focused on Romania’s involvement in the European programs ReArm Europe and Readiness 2030, with particular emphasis on the development of defense capabilities, especially in the segment of tactical and reconnaissance drones, a strategic priority in the current geopolitical context.

Mr. Berceanu emphasized the crucial role of the private sector in this collective effort of rearmament and modernization, reaffirming AVI Aircraft’s commitment to actively contribute to the technological and industrial advancement of Romania, particularly in the field of drone development.

This meeting comes at a pivotal moment, as Romania is taking concrete steps towards strengthening its domestic drone production. CARFIL Brașov, together with several industry partners, recently announced the start of production for two types of drones — a result based on the memorandum signed during the BSDA 2024 exhibition, where AVI Aircraft was also a part of this shared commitment to collaboration and technological innovation.

We believe these developments confirm the right direction for Romania’s national defense industry — one where the collaboration between the state and the private sector is becoming increasingly coherent and effective.

This openness towards the national industry motivates and empowers us. It is an important step towards authentic cooperation, based on innovation, expertise, and strategic partnerships.
